Bajkul United Forum is a non-profit organization dedicated to human welfare. This organization was constituted by some youthful members in the January of the year 2011 with its Registration number: S/1L/86757. Geographically, it is located in the area of Purba Medinipur Coastal plain, at Kismat Bajkul of the district of Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. Under the Bhagwanpur-I Community Development Block this organization is situated approximately 125 km away from Kolkata and 55 km before Digha, on the 116B National Highway.

This organization has been working in and around the Bajkul locality. It has been serving the inhabitants of Bajkul and its neighboring areas providing support-system based services to the poor, needy people and economically backward students. Without any discrimination of religion, caste and creed, economic background and political affiliations, this organization works only for social welfare of humanity. Bajkul United Forum undertakes several activities for the social, cultural and economic improvement of the society.

 

History

 

It was the turning point to form the organization that a destructive flood occurred in 2008 in the areas of Bajkul surroundings as well as the adjacent villages of the right bank of Keleghai River under Bhagwanpur –I & II Block. The young people of the Bajkul area observing that so many people immediately need help through shifting them into safer places and providing them relief with food, water, medicine, blankets & clothes etc. In this circumstance, some unemployed youngsters of Bajkul yet begged donation and subscriptions from the people with their passion.

From this activities they thought and planned to form a voluntary organization and started their journey in 2011 by a group of rural Young people under the leadership of Mr. Rabin Chandra Mandal, social Worker formed a voluntary organization the named as ‘Bajkul United Forum’ for social activities through the Socio-Cultural based village fair.
